CANCER CARE

Receiving a cancer diagnosis can be a scary time. You may feel uncertain about the future and feel unable to control what is happening to your body which is seemingly, under attack from an often unseen process that is occurring inside of you. Your body might suddenly feel like an unsafe place and you might be wondering what will help you and what might make things worse.

As an osteopath and body worker I know how healing and supportive hands on touch can be but I am also aware that it is important to work along side medical cancer treatment plans such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Whilst these vital treatments often provide the best disease curing outcomes, they can be quite draining on the mind, body and spirit. Patients going through cancer treatment and who want to benefit from additional support need specialist hands on care from a practitioner who is caring, safe and effective and who understands how to work with a body that might not be functioning at its top level! This is why I have enhanced my osteopathic care with specialist oncology massage training.

Whether you are looking for osteopathic treatment to help you manage pain or joint stiffness, stress relief, recovery from surgery or purely some relaxing time out for yourself, I can offer you a safe and supportive space.

Treatments can be tailored to you needs and can be purely massage based or a combination of massage and osteopathic techniques. I find cranial osteopathy works well as it is so gentle, you can read more about that here. I am also qualified in working with scar tissue which you may have as a result of cancer treatment. You can read more about this here.
