PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION FOR OSTEOPATHS

Supporting fellow therapists - from those starting out as newly qualified graduates to more established and experienced practitioners, is something that I enjoy and feel passionate about. My thought is that ‘If that if we can help the helper, we can help more people’. Due to my own positive experience with professional supervision, I am currently training for a certification in supervision for those working in healing professions with The Centre for Supervision & Team Development in London.

The purpose of supervision is to hold a confidential and reflective space to discuss and explore any aspect of professional life. It’s aim is to help the therapist personally and through them, also help their clients. Supervision is not about judgement or ‘being watched’ rather it is about practising ‘Super - Vision’. Together we view your experiences with enquiry and compassion thus enabling you to understand yourself better and improve your communication and relationship skills with others. The relationship between supervisor and supervisee is a supportive one that can simultaneously help to strengthen and develop a flourishing practise or support, guide or look for solutions when a therapist may be struggling.

The practise of supervision incorporates elements of compassionate enquiry, psychology, psychotherapy, group dynamics and communication skills.

Supervision sessions are a great way for you to develop self reflective practises both personally and professionally. They can also help contribute towards your CPD requirements as most discussions tend to include elements of:

  • Communication and patient partnership

  • Knowledge, skills and performance

  • Safety and quality in practice

  • Professionalism

As I am in the process of training, I am currently offering supervision at the reduced rate of £50 for 1hr session for a limited period of time. Sessions are 1:1 online via Zoom. The frequency of the sessions is a personal choice but you might like to start with once month or every six weeks. I recommend trying 2 sessions at first to see if we are a good working fit.

If you are interested in having supervision please contact me directly to discuss your needs and to arrange a session.

I will be taking people on from Jan 2024 onwards.
